Farida Guitars

Dawsons Music Chester recently held a guitar night at Telfords Warehouse in Chester. The Dawsons demo band used a wide selection of the guitars to show how the different models could be used with different styles of music.

We've included 3 tracks recorded live on the night by Keith Lock.

Track 1. Cissy Strut (originally by The Meters) 4.4Meg Download
(played on the Farida FTC-12 Blonde)

Track 2. Polk Salad Annie (Originally by Tony Joe White) 5.6Meg Download

Tim Morgan - Wurlitzer electric piano
Chazz Hartley - Drums

These are Sam's comments about the guitars

Farida FTC 12 Blonde.
The classic looks hint at the unbelievable quality of this guitar. When we plugged it in to the Fender Hot Rod on the night it sounded like a guitar three times its price. Fantastic raw sound on both pick-ups, great hardware and a great peice of wood. Farida have priced this product very aggressively to get as many out there as possible and make a name for themselves, making one of the best buys currently out there.

Farida FH 18 OW.
For this track I needed a guitar that sounded great and would stand up to some really heavy trem bar use(under the heat of the lights!)and not go out of tune. This guitar did better than pretty much all the big name alternatives. It has a Trevor Wilkinson two point pivoting floating trem system, which, in english, means it is incredibly difficult to put out of tune. Add this to a solid wood body and vintage style pick-ups and you have an amazing guitar.

BACK BY POPULAR DEMAND!

On Tuesday the 8th of July the boys from Dawsons Chester raised the roof at Telfords Warehouse.

The demo band played a mixture of Rock, Blues and Funk showcasing some of 2008's most exciting new guitars, including several introduced at this year’s Frankfurt Music Messe and previously unseen in the UK. They played classics from Stevie Ray Vaughan, Radiohead, The Rolling Stones and Queens Of The Stone Age among many others, with an acoustic set half-way through to give people's ears a rest (they have the loudest drummer in the world).

Here's a video of a track performed on the night for anyone who couldn't make it. Keep checking back for details of the next gig.
