Farida’s brand new addition to its renowned ‘artist designed’ range has been announced, this time designed with international superstar James Morrison.
The idea behind the artist designed series is simple, offer uber talented and highly respected guitarists the opportunity to design a guitar they’d not only be proud to play but also add their name to.
These guitars are built in conjunction with the team of master luthiers at Farida and are a no compromise approach to what the artists want, right from the start of the process.
Farida James Morrison R-52E Electro Acoustic Guitar
James has designed a stunning guitar, all solid Spruce/Mahogany, Fishman Rare Earth pick-up, vintage sunburst rubbed matt finish, and cheeky headstock logo to boot, very special indeed.
James brought years of experience as a guitar player and enthusiast to his signature guitar project, and the finished model shows this, a stunning mix of classic and contemporary features.
The body itself is made in Farida’s grand auditorium ‘R’ mould, and is made from the highest possible solid timbers. Solid German spruce was used for the soundboard, and solid African mahogany for the back and sides, resulting in a crisp, well defined tone, ideal for strumming or finger-style playing.
James wanted a ‘working mans’ guitar, influenced by the likes of Johnny Cash and Robert Johnson, and chose this stunning vintage sunburst, in a matt finish that wears to a lustrous patina over time. Combined with this, James chose several vintage touches to add to his models classic looks such as a bone nut and saddle, trapezoid inlays and ‘pyramid’ bridge piece. The front of the headstock carries a logo designed by James especially for this model.
James chose his personal favourite top of the range Fishman Rare Earth humbucker sound-hole pick-up for this model.
Like all the guitars in the Farida Artist designed range, only twenty-five of these exclusive and highly collectable guitars will ever be made, each one individually numbered and supplied with a fitted hardcase and Certificate of Authenticity signed by James.
