The Farida D-8X OP is the perfect guitar if you’re just starting out. Taking our expertise learnt from making countless guitars for many performing artists, we’ve created a no-frills model which truly shines on it’s own merits.
Made to a fail-safe and timeless design, the Farida D-8X is said by many to provide unrivalled quality at such a low price point. We’ve used sitka spruce for the top of the guitar, partnered with mahogany on the back and sides. You’ll see these woods used together on many classic models, and for good reason. Both are stable and reliable whilst also having favourable tonal properties, giving the Farida D-8X a well-rounded sound that’s really versatile, great for any type of music.
The OP in the model name stands for “Open Pore”, which refers to the finish the guitar has been given. Many acoustic guitars are covered in a thick layer of gloss coating which may look good but can also have a negative impact on the sound of the guitar. As you can imagine, wood needs room to breathe for it to perform optimally and because of this we mostly leave the Farida D-8X OP untreated. Don’t be surprised if you see this finish used on an increasing number of guitars in the near future, as it has helped to set a new benchmark in tonal quality for a beginners acoustic guitar.
On acoustic guitars every single detail is important, from the woods and components used, to the construction methods and even the strings. Premium components are used throughout, with upgraded PPS nut and saddle, die case chrome machine heads and elegant black binding. The Farida D-8X is strung with a set of D’addario strings, which provide consistent feel and extremely reliable performance. You can take comfort in knowing that your guitar features strings which are used by a huge number of professionals worldwide.
