Mallory Knox were formed in August 2009 by Dave Rawling (drums) and Joe Savins (lead guitar) and later joined by Sam Douglas (bass), James Gillett (rhythm guitar) and finally Mikey Chapman (vocals). The band name Mallory Knox comes from the female protagonist of the Quentin Tarantino film ‘Natural Born Killers’.
With the help of producer Dan Lancaster, Mallory Knox recorded their debut EP ‘Pilot’ at the end of 2009 and was subsequently released by Wolf At Your Door records in 2010.
In the summer of 2012 Mallory Knox played Download Festival in Derbyshire and then spent the back end of the year supporting UK band Canterbury across the UK. The band released 5 singles during 2012 including giant hits ‘Lighthouse’, ‘Beggars’ and ‘Hello’ and then released their debut album ‘Signals’ at the start of 2013. After supporting ‘Don Broco’ on their tour during February and March the band then went on a headline UK tour to promote ‘Signals’. Later in 2013, Mallory Knox would go on to open the main stage at Reading and Leeds Festivals.
Mallory Knox signed to Search & Destroy Music, the sister company of their management company Raw Power Management.
In Rocksound magazine during 2014, Mallory Knox announced they had written a selection of songs that would later become their second album ‘Asymmetry’. The band performed at Slam Dunk Festival in April and Reading and Leeds Festival for the second time in August. Their second album dropped on 27th October and the band followed this up with their biggest set of UK headline shows to date ending with 2 nights at Electric Ballroom in Camden to two sellout crowds.
At the start of 2015 the boys ventured over to the US for the first time performing shows with Pierce The Veil and Sleeping with Sirens.
Joe Savins uses the James Morrison R-52E acoustic guitar and James Gillett uses the James Morrison R-52E acoustic guitar and the CT-32 electric guitar finished in Olympic White.
